Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Nature Animals

So far this year I haven’t seen much in the way of stand out nature animals. Sorry all you muted brown drab animals, you blend in too well! Yesterday, however, I found the first red newts (5!) of the season.

Here are two from earlier this year:

deer

always good for a prey animal to blend in

heron

great blue heron, right before the area started coming back to life on an overcast day

Sorry for adding three more BUT here are some neat ones from when I was in Salt Lake City with my sister 5+ years ago:

can't really tell but his belly was a bright yellow. also he was missing his tail

the buffalo was the coolest! a close up shot

and one with the mountains in the background. it was a gorgeous day for a hike and was so cool seeing buffalo in the wild!

  1. Simply FABULOUS, Megz !!! – all of ’em quite brilliant ! Now for the really dumb question:are the mountains maybe the Adirondacks ? You may fall over laughing now …

    • Not a stupid question, the Adirondacks are in the East, NE part of New York state and the highest mountain is a little of 5,000 ft above sea level. Salt Lake City is in the West-ish part of the country and is in the Wasatch Range and the highest peak there is around 11,000 ft about sea level. Very different areas and both are very beautiful in their own right.

What do you think?
